The food is distributed via a voucher system whereby people are given vouchers with a set amount and can redeem these vouchers at a local gorcery store for food items they need. Since the WFP (World Food Program) scaled back it's food distribution in Aleppo due to lack of funds and faced with dangers in distribution, local charities have had to fill the gap, however it's merely a drop in the bucket.
